About
The Faulkner County, Arkansas News (TheFaulknerNews.com) is dedicated to bringing you all the local news, without the hype and spin the Old Mainstream Media uses to influence your mind toward the Progressive way of seeing things. In other words, we just tell it like it is.
There is plenty of opportunity for opinion and we’ll have plenty of that. That is what the comments section under each article is for. Also, if we quote someone who said something and you disagree with it, please add your take on the matter! The object is to treat everyone and every matter in a Fair and Square way.

We are looking for entrepreneurial reporters for covering youth and adult sports. Sports teach values, skills and most importantly how to behave and get along with others. That is even more important than the exercise and winning. After training, we’ll share advertising revenues we generate with you and pay a generous percentage on any sponsorships you acquire. It might be great for Grandma or Grandpa too! This opportunity would be ideal for parents with children who want to put the family first and still pay the bills. We’re not saying you’ll get rich doing this but then our definition of PROSPERITY is having more than enough income to meet all your needs.
For those who need a substantial, ever increasing income, you may want to consider becoming an account executive. This is for individuals who have decent communication skill sets, and who have high levels of integrity. We’ll reward you with a significant portion of the revenues you generate, protected accounts and vested residual income.
Then we’ll have opportunities for business reporters who will cover selected accounts and keep our readers well informed. You’ll be using you still camera and/or video camera, along with your reporting skills to bring the inside story of each locally owned or managed business enterprise, some of which are home based, interesting and maybe even off the beaten path. You might be covering someone who makes quilts or repairs sewing machines or sells special products through home parties.
The focus is always going to be on locally based businesses who are here all the time and can stand behind their products and/or services. We’ll PASS on those businesses who flash into town, grab a bunch of business and then sneak out of town before they have to service what they sell. You’ll be talking to local people to find out what makes them special and why our readers should do business with them.
On the other hand, if some business, like an ENRON or other scamster business is ripping off our readers, we want to cover that story and let them know it might be too risky to do business with them and that is where Investigative Reporters come in. Whether it is a crooked business, a corrupt politician or an overbearing public official, we’ll do our level best to expose them. We’ll cover the police beat also but dig much deeper.
We’ll hold public officials accountable for upholding their oath of office. We want to bring honor back to all public offices. We’ll feature and honor those who are doing right by their constituents and expose those who are not.
Then we have need of special reporters to cover neighborhood news and events. Whether it is a block party, someone needing help or celebrating an anniversary or graduation, you’ll be the GO TO person. It may sound a bit corny but we want to be; “of the people by the people and for the people” like no one else ever has. That is our goal. We won’t be starting out that way but that is our goal. You could be THE ONE to help us all in your area!
We expect to be able to launch sometime in August of 2010. We’ll also have a local StreetSheet available in each neighborhood as we open each one up. These will be FREE take ones available at better business locations everywhere as we expand. We will NOT charge for subscriptions to the online edition nor the StreetSheets. The StreetSheets will have brief stories so you can go to the online edition to read the rest of the story and all the stories we could not publish in printed StreetSheet Edition.
Our publications will be sponsored by advertising at affordable rates for every business who wants to get their current messages out. For the time being, until the unemployment rate falls below 5%, we will keep our classified ad section FREE for most categories in the ONLINE Edition. You’ll be able to take pictures of the products you have to sell and also describe them in as much detail as you wish. You won’t have to abbreviate words or leave important words out of your ad. The print edition (StreetSheet) will NOT have any FREE advertising but the cost will be very affordable. You can use either edition or both editions. Businesses or people who use deceptive advertising will be banned from this media, regardless of how much money they can spend.
On politics, we’ll cover it all and compare candidates and their issues plus we’ll do something the Old Mainstream Media won’t do. We’ll give equal opportunity for all politicians to get their messages out and give the readers free space to challenge them in the online edition. They’ll have to pay for distribution in the StreetSheet Edition and for special ads they run in the online edition. But the critical issues the readers want to know about will be covered free and equally.
If you want us to get an answer from a politician or government bureaucrat, we’ll contact them and get their responses. We’ll tell you if they try to dodge your question. In the Good Ole USA, the Citizens are the creators and founders of the government.
We’ll do the same for you on business matters also. Local businesses most of the time will want to treat you Fair & Square. But if one of them wants to screw you over, the rest of us need to know that. It is much more likely that out of the area businesses will be the ones who give you the run around and the what for. Many nationwide businesses have good reputations and want to keep them so if you have a problem with one of them and they won’t resolve the matter properly, we’ll try to help you. We’ll have ask the lawyer, ask the doctor and ask the professional sections as well. So send in your questions.
We’ll always give the other side the opportunity to respond and let you know when they are dodging an issue. This could be lots of fun and clear a lot of skeletons out of the closet. You get to read what your friends and neighbors say. You’ll even be able to upload videos of you speaking your mind. Just keep it decent or we’ll ask your mother to wash your mouth out with soap. That means we reserve the right to edit or delete unsavory content.
We hope and trust that you will enjoy the new media and send us your suggestions. We have twice as many ears as we do mouths!
Please email us with your name, message, and your subject matter.
